Fast forward a few years. Some folks with the surname Whitlock served missions. Notably, Elder Hollan J Whitlock of Las Vegas Nevada in the Michigan Detroit Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint.

As a addicted blogger, I must do this.. but let’s admit up front that the entries will be random, with little important news.. likely very little doctrine (for that see http://lds.org). and very likely a whole lot more silliness.

To all my friends and random people reading this…                              

With this 13^th being “Good Samaritan Involvement Day”, I thought it would be a great idea to tell of the wonderful aspect of my great life.

As most of you know I am going on a mission to the admirable city of Detroit Michigan, a town that is uniquely renaissance in so many ways.

This mission will not be easy, it will try my every nerve and make me think in ways I never have before. What will make the whole experience easier would be letters! Lots and lots of letters and packages containing an array of cookies and goodies in exaltation.

In this letter I shall include a picture of myself so you all can remember my beauty, also my new address to which you can send me those marvelous letters and packages.
